SUBJECT: THE SUFFERING OF INDIVIDUAL WORKERS AND THEIR WAY OF LIFESTYLE THEME: PACIFIC SOCIETIES UNDER CAPITALISM The project is based on the indenture system during the colonial period in the Fiji. Indians were brought from India to work in the sugar plantations, as the introduction of the indenture system was the work of Sir Arthur Gordon. In my project, the subject reflects the theme by explaining the suffering and lifestyle of Indians during the indenture system. My project also highlights the harsh consequences on plantation work. This topic gives a fair idea and explanation about Fijian and Indo-Fijian societies in the indenture system under the theme “Pacific Societies under Capitalism”. When carrying out my project, a question arises: “How is the subject related to me?” » I think this relates to me in many ways.
