Essay / Huckleberry Finn's Last Adventure - 1037
As Huck and Jim's journey progresses, the river, which once seemed a paradise and a source of freedom, becomes simply a means of short-term escape term that pushes Huck and Jim further towards danger and destruction. Jim was captured but Huck freed him again to this so-called freedom. Now they were now on their great quest westward, but they knew something was wrong with their nature. They noticed that the river's current was coming out of nowhere, something that resembled the start of a tsunami. They held on, even as the raft shook from the destruction. It remained untouched for quite a while, but suddenly the once calm river to freedom finally picked up waves. Huck, has never seen anything like this in his entire trip. Within moments, the waves grew larger than the surrounding trees. Huck and Jim were scared because everything they had to survive, which was on the raft, flew into the water. Shortly afterward, the raft was swept aside by a wave and flew three hundred feet into the air. When he was airborne, Huck and Jim were both ejected and landed on the river bank, near sixteen ripe berry bushes. They were both very angry as their struggle to survive with the raft was coming to an end. Since they had landed near a fruit, this fact did not cross their minds. They were hungry and had to eat. Without seeing what kind of berries they were, they began to eat like caged animals. About half an hour later, they had finished eating all the berries from the trees and a shadow appeared in the background of the forest. The figure approached and Huck began to ask the mysterious figure questions. They were both frightened as they discovered that it was a person they had only heard about in myths. Someone who was almost too unreal to be true. It was about the evil black samurai called Mr. Wiggles. Wiggles told Huck and Jim that the berries they ate were one of the most poisonous berries in the world and that they were going to kill them within the next 48 hours. This made them very uncomfortable because it seemed like both of their lives were going to come to a dramatic end...
