Safety Concerns for a DiabeticThere are some safety concerns for a diabetic. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2012) and Diabetes Education Team (2014), here are the tips. First, finger prick devices and injection equipment should never be used by more than one person. Additionally, glucometers should be cleaned and disinfected after each use if shared with others. Additionally, the glucometer should be adjusted periodically depending on the duration of use. People should also check whether the strips are expired or not, as well as confirm that the operating sequence is correct. These are the traditional glucometer (TGM) and the continuous glucometer (CGM). According to Editor (2013), here is the comparison with these two monitors. There are some advantages of TGM. Firstly, TGMs are affordable for people because they don't cost much. Second, they are much more precise than CGMs. Third, they are easy to use compared to CGM. On the other hand, CGM also has certain advantages. First, it can display constant information about blood sugar levels. Second, because it constantly checks blood sugar levels, it can allow people to respond quickly to potential threats. Third, just change the sensor once a week. Fourth, CGM is less invasive than TGM. Finally, there is no need to think about testing since the CGM always checks on its own. However, both TGM and CGM have some disadvantages.
