Canine Diabetes: Biting DiseaseThe silent killer, also known as diabetes, kills thousands of people around the world daily; most often strangers or people you have never met and sometimes even family members. What if he was someone's best friend? A best friend so close that the bond shared is indescribable, like a dog. Many people find that the bond shared in friendship with a dog is unlike any relationship with a human. Dog owners treat their dogs as best they can and to the best of their abilities, but most of the time the dog may be treated too well. Spoiling your dog can lead to serious health problems, such as diabetes. Diabetes is silently killing man's best friend by slowly deteriorating a dog's health. This is why all dog owners and animal lovers need to be aware of what is happening in the dog's body and how to take care of it. Canine diabetes is a disease in which there is a deficiency in or insensitivity to the hormone insulin, resulting in the body being unable to properly regulate blood sugar levels. Insulin is produced in the pancreas, which controls blood glucose concentration.
