  • Essay / Analysis of the Silver Linings Gamebook and the Blind Side

This was interesting because I was actually talking with an 8 year old I babysit about the topic of our class assignment and I told him that I was trying to think of a really good movie. He thought about it for a moment, then looked at me a little later and said, “I get it – The Blind Side!” » I found it extremely strange that he chose this film over all the other films that feature disabled people. I rewatched the film and realized that the media paid special attention to Michael Oher's disabilities as a student. He wasn't stupid but needed help to succeed. So much so that he needed a tutor after school every day until very late at night to help him succeed. He understood better one-on-one. The media did a good job of showing other students' reactions to Michael.
