Albert Einstein was undoubtedly one of the world's greatest doctors and mathematicians of all time. Einstein's theories of relativity completely changed the world and had a huge impact on the way we live today. From how we heat our homes to how we can use GPS navigation systems. His theories have significantly changed the way we must perceive the world around us. His theories of relativity and his work during the World Wars earned him a Nobel Prize in Physics, to name just one of the many awards he deservedly received. In 1905, Einstein published the Annus Mirabilis papers. These articles explained each of his four main theories; the photoelectric effect, Brownian motion, special relativity and the energy equivalence of matter. These four works laid the foundations of modern physics and provided a new vision of space, time and matter. Brownian motion is the random movement of small particles in a gas or liquid caused by collisions with particles around them. Albert Einstein proposed mathematical equations that allowed him to determine the exact size of atoms. With these equations, Einstein essentially provided the first substantial proof that atoms actually exist. Einstein's second paper was on the photoelectric effect. Until Einstein, the photoelectric effect was unresolved. Einstein concluded that when a photon strikes a metal surface, the photoelectrons present on the metal surface are emitted under certain light frequencies. Thus proving that light has quanta, meaning it contains packets of energy. This has brought huge technological advancements and has a lot to do with many things around us today. Old television used video camera tubes which required the photoelectric effect to charge the screen and transform the image...... middle of paper ... security threats, the main purpose of which was to disarm all nuclear missiles. There is no denying that Albert Einstein was one of the most influential and greatest thinkers the world has ever known. His enormous impact on the world of physics through the Annus Mirabilis papers and his many other discoveries about space and matter opened up new possibilities for future scientists and inventors. Einstein impacted the world not only through science, but also through his political views. His letter to Roosevelt that ended up completely changing the way World War II ended and his involvement in the Cold War, trying to prevent a nuclear war from happening. All these things make Albert Einstein very deserving of the noble prize he received. His theories in physics will continue to impact the discovery of the universe and future generations..
