Essay / The Analysis of Yellow Wallpaper - 720
In Yellow Wallpaper, written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman in 1892, was mainly about this woman who suffered from nervous disorders and depression. Jane felt uncomfortable in the house. Her husband was a doctor and he kept telling her that everything was fine with her, but she felt like something was wrong with her mind. She told her husband that the wallpaper was ugly in the house and she wanted to change it. He went on to say that she was overreacting. Over time, she wrote in a journal every day about this yellow wallpaper. For some reason she hated it. I believe the husband acted like he wasn't paying attention to her, so she continued to hide her journal and write to ease the pain she was going through. In contrast, the story of No Name Woman by Maxine Hong Kingston was written in 1975. Kingston's aunt was alienated by her family, who committed suicide because she could no longer retreat from crude humor villagers and his family. She became pregnant and thought she would escape the hell she unfortunately experienced by committing suicide. In comparison, these women endured withdrawal from their families and searched for ways to cope with their difficult lives in the worst possible way. Ms. Gilman describes her concern over the troubled and loveless relationship that occurred in the story. She also reveals the time when women were supposed to be jovial, but that only made them mad. In No Name Woman, the story recapitulated some ancient ethics and morals that occurred during the time when women had to conform to the heritage they were a part of. of. According to Papke, women were known to be emotional servants. “They devoted themselves to the well-being of the home and family, prioritizing social stability” (Papke). Men had the power to maintain control...... middle of article...... over different postpartum disorders. An important aspect to remember from these two stories would be the theme. Both stories are similar, guaranteeing men's power over women. In Yellow Wallpaper, she is somehow forced to repress her disorder in a way that isn't entirely normal. I believe the marriage she and her husband had ended a long time ago. After trying to relieve her pain by writing, she was unable to do so because of her condition. I think it was right to ensure that she was taken care of properly with appropriate treatment and to create other possible solutions to alleviate unnecessary problems that could seriously harm her health. In No Name Woman, Kingston's aunt was treated with the utmost disrespect by her community and family. It's a shame that being a woman can give you such a bad reputation or create biased thoughts and judgments among other things..
