  • Essay / Muhammad (PBUH) – The pioneer of the great revolution!

Arabia before the advent of Islam, famous for its hereditary feuds and bloody enmities, is well known. The Arabs had a general practice of instigating quarrels over trivial matters, fighting and causing havoc. Time and time again, swords were drawn from their sheaths over common issues. These were the conditions under which God sent His Messenger, Muhammad (PBUH). It was one of the aspects of this man's leadership that he not only amicably brought together these warring and confronting tribes, but, breaking down the artificial barriers of mountains and rivers, he created such an international society which put an end to all discrimination between blacks and whites, Arabs and non-Arabs, Muslims and non-Muslims, master and slave. Bilal of Abyssinia, Suhaib of Rome and Salman of Persia formed one family. In this bloody region of Arabia full of human carnage, where swords always caused a shower of blood, the sky witnessed an astonishing spectacle where the emigrants from Mecca and the Helpers of Medina were seen kissing each other and relations of fraternity and equality be established between them. The Ansar even disturbed their lands, homes and gardens to offer aid to their fellow refugees. They were even willing to shed their blood instead of their sweat. The Quran reminding believers of this glorious revolution says: “But remember the blessing of Allah upon you when you were enemies (of each other). Then He created the bond of love between your hearts, and by His blessing you became brothers. And you (had reached) the edge of a pit of Fire (of Hell), but He delivered you from it. This is how Allah prepares His signs for you so that you may be guided to the right path” (Al-Imran 103)....... middle of paper ...... created in himself an ideal model of human life in its most perfect and standard form. He exposed the lives of thousands and thousands of his disciples, modeled on the Quran. After all, how many Prophet monomaniacs are there among human beings, determined to mold their lives in this pious mold and inculcate new human values in their personality?
