    The Oxford Dictionary defines beauty as “the quality which gives pleasure to mankind.” We humans have worked hard to surround our lives with beauty because we know that wherever there is beauty, there is happiness. The ancient Egyptians, for example, placed pitiful objects, usually made of gold, in their tombs. They knew the meaning of beauty and were sure that beautiful antiques would make them happy after death. To understand the precise meaning of beauty, we must first differentiate between external beauty and internal beauty. We often confuse beauty with external beauty. However, true beauty is something inside the body. Something we cannot see is invisible to us. Inner beauty is something we can feel rather than see. It can take years to see the inner beauty in others, however, it is there in everyone we know. Even murders have this kind of beauty, but they buried it deep in their hearts, where no one can see it. When we look at children, for example, we can see the indescribable beauty that makes us smile and make us happy in their presence....
