Essay / The Warrant Officer's Role in the United States Army
Being an advisor to the chain of command is extremely important to the Warrant Officer. No successful leader in the world has made a decision without talking to an advisor. A good example of this is that during World War II, the Germans were winning the war until Hitler stopped listening to his military advisor, which led to the fall of the German army. There are two types of advisors, good ones and bad ones. If a warrant officer is a good advisor, he will give timely and correct advice, remain relevant in his field, have a great understanding of the commanders' intentions, and remain neutral. If a warrant officer is a bad advisor, he will give bad information, be out of touch with what is happening in his area, and only look out for himself. It is as an advisor that the adjutant acquires and holds the most advantages.
