Robert Frost OverviewThe 20th century was filled with poetry, and the American poet who stood out from the rest was Robert Frost. Frost was a poet best known for depicting the nature of Vermont and New Hampshire at its most beautiful and worst. Robert Frost was born in San Francisco on March 26, 1874 and died in Boston on January 29, 1963. Robert Frost had a sister named Jeanie Frost, a father named William Prescott Frost Junior, and a mother named Isabelle Moodle. Robert Frost, a renowned poet of the 20th century, transcribed numerous poems and is considered the most influential poet in the American literary world. Frost's childhood was quite dynamic. At eleven years old, in 1885, Frost's father died of tuberculosis and soon after, the family moved to Massachusetts. In the past, Frost played a lot of basketball and traveled with friends. Frost went to Dartmouth College after high school; however, this was short-lived as he dropped out of college in less than a semester. He then entered Harvard University, a university from which his father had graduated. However, due to health problems, he only lasted two years. Without Frost graduating, he did not obtain a proper college degree. During his lifetime, he won four Pulitzer Prizes for poetry in the years 1924, 1931, 1937 and 1943. From the encyclopedia World Book F 7, on page five hundred and forty-two, it is written: "In 1960, Frost was awarded a Congressional Gold Medal in recognition of his poetry. Frost also recited a poem to John Fitzgerald Kennedy at his inauguration. Frost had many significant events in his life, some of which occurred when he created his first poem or when he moved to England in 1912. A poem in Mountain Interval...... middle of paper ......and hundreds of poems and is one of the most famous poets in the United States. He experienced many ups and downs in his life, including his recitation as a poet to John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The greatest works Frost ever composed are found in his book Mountain Interval, which includes The Road Not Taken, “Birches” and many others.
