    The scientific method and ethical rules are important tools during research and experimentation. When researchers follow these guidelines, the experiment is considered safe for the test subjects, and the person conducting the research is considered reputable. But experiments go wrong when researchers ignore the scientific method and ethical rules. The experiments of Alfred Kinsey and the scientific team of William Masters and Virginia Johnson have been criticized for their research methods and ethics. Both scientific teams studied human sexuality, a subject under constant scrutiny. Kinsey, Masters, and Johnson were not always ethical in their studies and did not always follow the scientific method. Alfred Kinsey is best known for his research on male and female sexual behavior (Brown and Fee). However, his research and interest in this topic only began after he began teaching a course on marriage at Indiana University (Discovery Fit and Health). Kinsey realized that there was very little information about human sexuality, so he decided to do some research. With the help of his colleagues, Kinsey founded the Institute for Sex Research at Indiana University (Discovery Fit and Health). In order to understand whether the research conducted by Alfred Kinsey, or any other researcher, was scientifically acceptable, one must understand the rules of ethics and the scientific method. Ethical rules include informed consent of participants; voluntary participation; restrict the use of deception and debrief participants after the experiment; keep participant information confidential; and propose alternative activities (Huffman 18-19).
