    Should students with ADD be placed in specialized classes? Many adults and caregivers do not know what attention deficit disorder (ADD) is and therefore are unaware of it. how to take good care of these children. They believe that because their children have ADD, they will not be able to learn or succeed in a regular classroom with other normal students. The truth is that only 1 in 35 students with ADD need additional help outside of the classroom because they are not learning enough there (Cowan). Many teachers and parents believe that placing children with ADD in specialized classes will help them overcome their problems and perform better in class, but on the contrary it will slow down their learning process, slow down the development of their social skills and their will also teach them that they can use ADD as an excuse in other areas of their life (Child Development Institute). Attention Deficit Disorder is a disorder that is growing every day. In the 1920s, only one in eight children, since then this number has steadily increased year by year. Today, one in three children suffer from ADD (Cowan). Attention deficit disorder is a condition that causes difficulty learning, behaving, and even getting along with others. People who are diagnosed with ADD usually suffer from one or more of these common symptoms. The first symptom is inattention, meaning they will have difficulty focusing on one thing at a time or paying attention for any length of time. Inattentive people have serious problems with distractions. This can seriously affect a student in a class.
