    There are two things in common with all x-rays taken. They all have a story and all stories are shared with the man or woman taking the x-ray. Almost everyone will have at least one x-ray in their life. Most x-ray technicians can make an impact on their patients' lives, whether it's a good impact or a bad impact. While the patient is seated and in minor or crucial pain, the x-ray technician must distract them from the pain while moving them to take the x-rays. Most people don't understand how important x-ray technicians are. An X-ray technician could lead to incorrect diagnoses if he or she does not perform his/her duties (career) properly. They have many responsibilities: they must direct the x-ray film cassettes, take x-rays and digital photos, develop, repair, wash, dry, and file the x-ray films, maintain records of the x-ray films, and they must help plan x-ray clinics (Devenir). “Radiology technicians use cutting-edge imaging methods to visualize, treat illnesses or injuries with high precision” (Spako). They use a lot of different equipment to take images (Spako). Radiology technicians use traditional x-ray machines, computerized axial tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, fluoroscopy, film, and digital mammography (Spako). Another name that X-ray technicians will be called is radiographers (Decker). “Radiographers and their colleagues in the radiology laboratory provide a vital service, enhancing the ability of physicians to diagnose and treat patients with a variety of diseases” (Decker). X-ray technicians work in many locations; some include a hospital, medical clinic or laboratory (xraytech). “Approximately 61% of radiology technicians work in a hospital” (Devenir). Most of them work weekends and holidays; some of them also work night shifts (Spak...... middle of paper...... a career with a lot of potential.
