Essay / The Renaissance Era - 1222
The Renaissance EraThis era was filled with many good things that allow modern life to exist. The Renaissance was a time of many new ideas and practices in medicine, entertainment, punishment, and many other subjects. Without the knowledge gained during this time, many things we take for granted today would never have existed. In this essay, I will tell you about the many things that happened during this period and how people of this era would have lived their daily lives. The clothes that people wore in those days are very different from those of today. The people who lived during this time were very conservative in what they wore and how they behaved. They were mostly very religious and this played a huge role in their daily lives as well. They believed that God judged everything they did, so they tried to live according to the Bible. Men and women dressed very differently from what they wear today. For example, men had four essential items of cloth. The first piece was a shirt or as it was called a “camicia”. If you were rich, you never wore the camicia alone, because that meant you were just a poor, working-class man. The second item of clothing was a “doublet,” which is a small sleeveless jacket. They also wore a skirt, high socks and a jacket that came down to their knees. Women also wore several layers of clothing. They wore many dresses and they were very big and colorful. They were wearing very strange shoes, they looked like high heels today but looked very different. Women wore a floor-length dress and an outer jacket of the same length. The quality of the clothing and its composition would determine the woman's social class. People support the...... middle of paper...... of that era. Humanity has learned a lot from this period. This period was known as the Learning Period because of all the medical breakthroughs and other scientific discoveries that were developed during this period.
