Dell Business AnalysisWhere are we going?Dell is currently migrating to new technology. They have opened new facilities in Europe and North America to help customers and independent software vendors with next-generation Internet technologies. They also quickly gain experience and know-how in applying business rules. Dell created valuechain.dell.com, which provides suppliers with secure access to Dell operations. They have also reached agreements with BellSouth DSL and Samsung which will be made public later. From a financial perspective, Dell expects total revenue of $8.5 billion to $8.6 billion, an increase of 26 percent from last year. Net profit is also expected to increase by 10 to 20 percent. Earnings per share will likely reach 18 to 19 cents. How will we get there? For Dell to achieve their goals, they simply must continue to provide the service that they are. They are pioneers in the industry because of their specialized service, and I believe more customers will attract towards them because of this. However, one hurdle Dell will have to overcome is the fact that memory cards can be purchased at any retail store (i.e. Staples, Office Max). This eliminates the need for customers to upgrade their systems. Perhaps a specialized chip can be created and sold specifically by Dell that will prove more beneficial to Dell's customers. How will we know? Dell Computer Corporation will know they are there if their success is continued. They are already dominating the market so their true success will be proven if they continue. Short-term, quarterly, and realistic goals should be set, and if they are met, Dell will know that they “achieved” it »..
