    Leadership is essentially the ability to motivate. An effective leader can motivate others to achieve a common goal. Leaders are different from managers in that they inspire others to do the necessary work, while managers generally tend to manage the tasks associated with achieving the goal. From my own experiences, I have been both a leader and a manager in my professional life and I find that leading can be difficult. Inspiring others to get on the same page and work together toward the same goal comes with its own challenges. It is much easier to manage the actual tasks associated with the project or goal than to get buy-in from others to accomplish those tasks. - A very strong, but controversial person who was used as the main example of an effective person. The leader is Adolf Hitler. Even though the things he led his armies to do were despicable, he managed to motivate, create a sense of belonging among the armies and instill a strong sense of urgency to believe in his vision. - Lead by example: Effective leaders know they are always being watched and feel comfortable being seen as a role model. Participating where necessary, being an active part of the team, demonstrating expected values ​​and characteristics, and doing the work that others do to understand them are all aspects of leading by example (Yoskovitz, 2007 ). - An experience I had I set an example when I was given a middle management position to lead others who had been doing the job longer than me. In order to gain respect and lead effectively, I had to “get my hands dirty.” I spent a lot of time with each employee to find out what they were doing, how long they had been doing it, and what problems they were having... middle of paper ...... decision making helping someone one with becoming more technically proficient in aspects of that individual's job that may require them to use decision-making with their employees as well as problem-solving with challenges that may arise along the path toward achieving the goals. - Skills building is a matter of both professional and personal development. Researching and practicing leadership skills in any field, such as administration and finance, will contribute to the continued development of the technical skills needed for the positions as well as the skills needed to be an effective role model and motivator. - Some elements of a plan that I might participate in are internal training regarding effective listening, communication and organization as well as external seminars, courses and readings to continue to develop myself both professionally and personally..
