    Employment Law Several situations have arisen with this individual sales manager. The events that will be discussed concern two employees who were victims of sexual harassment by this individual. The sexual harassment laws that protect the two women, what actions the company should have taken and how the situation should have been handled if it involved a union, etc. On several occasions, the new business manager would walk into the author's office and begin rubbing the author's shoulders and arms. This action was not acceptable and the author kindly asked her to stop. The director continued to perform these actions every time he spoke to the author. The author, after obtaining no results with the director, had a discussion with his immediate superior. The supervisor indicated he would speak to the sales manager. The supervisor informed the author that he had already said something to him because he was also doing the same thing to him. The author indicated that if this continued, she would speak to their vice president. It got better for a while, then it started again. The author was fed up and uncomfortable with being touched. The author spoke to the vice president and he told her that she would talk to him and take care of it. The vice president indicated that it really wasn't that big of a deal because it was their culture, that they are sensitive people. The author indicated that she was sorry, but that it made her uncomfortable. Once again, nothing happened and the manager did it again. The author filed a complaint with human resources. During this ordeal, the manager started touching another woman in the department and she was very loud with him and advised him not to touch her. A few days later she had a meeting with this manager in his office, they were sitting next to each other and the manager started rubbing her leg. She jumped up and shouted at him not to touch her; she left her office and went straight to human resources. There are federal laws that protect everyone from sexual harassment in the workplace.
