The 18th Dynasty, which only took place between 1570 BC and 1365 BC, was considered one of the most prosperous and glorious periods of ancient Egyptian history. It was also a time when some of the greatest pharaohs had made Thebes a majestic capital and created one of the greatest Egyptian settlements in ancient history, the temple of their god Amun Re. One of the most notable pharaohs was the founder of the New Kingdom, Ahmose I. However, the question has been asked to what extent did Ahmose I contribute to the success of the New Kingdom? This article believes that Ahmose made an important contribution to the New Kingdom and was in fact a pharaoh who successfully destroyed the Hyksos, liberated Egypt, and rebuilt the nation. During the decline of the Middle Kingdom, Sequentre Tao, the pharaoh of the 17th Dynasty during the Second Intermediate Period and was also the father of Kamose and Ahmose. Seqnenre Tao was killed in battle while in conflict with the Hyksos. His father's death angered Kamose and he swore to avenge his death and succeeded him as pharaoh and king of Eg....
