  • Essay / Sexual Orientation - 1088

Sexual OrientationSexual orientation is considered very controversial in our world today. There are many issues that society faces regarding homosexuality. When thinking about homosexuality, most people look to the Bible for an answer. There is even more controversy in the text of the Bible. There is not only a reference to the Bible, but also to our minds in determining whether or not homosexuality is a moral issue. Psychological and biological research seeks an answer to this illustrious area of confusion. According to Shakuntala Delvi, “a homosexual experience is any physical arousal that a person feels in response to someone of their own sex. It can range from simply thinking about someone and being aroused to having physical contact and an orgasm with that person” (Delvi 11). This definition raises many questions about how someone can be attracted to the same sex. The moral question surrounding homosexuality is very confusing. It takes a long time to understand why someone would feel attraction to someone of the same sex. There are many different views on whether homosexuality is moral. It was considered a way of life in Greek mythological tales. Greek women sought the companionship of other women for true love and only engaged in heterosexual relationships as a means of reproduction (Delvi 30). There are ignorant people in our society who condemn this way of life because they lack open-mindedness. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on this subject. Homosexuality is not only a way of life for many people, but also a way of life like any other. People who are OK with a homosexual lifestyle seem to be more stable in their own lives. They are more open and have a better understanding...... middle of paper ......mn love. Social and moral questions are at the top of the continuum as to whether or not homosexuality is an act of nature or simply a choice made. My conclusion is that homosexuals are born on earth by nature. This is a natural phenomenon that can occur here without explanation. You should know that if someone loves another person, regardless of their gender, it should not be a problem in any way. Sophocles once said, “A word frees us from all the weight and pain of life.” This word is Love. »Bibliography: Works CitedGarnett, Linda D. and Douglas C. Kimmel.
