Essay / Judaism: history, beliefs and religious practices
Judaism came from a religious environment and rejected the pantheistic model. They did not believe that everything was divine and should be worshiped as a god like the Egyptians did. Instead of claiming that there is a God like most major religions, they have clearly stated that we are not God. In a pantheistic model, everything is divine and considered a God from which they come. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on “Why Violent Video Games Should Not Be Banned”? Judaism differs from all other religious systems and is considered one of the most unique religions in the world because of this belief and how it originated. However, Judaism shares a slight similarity between Christianity and Islam. These religions appeared in the Middle East around 2000 BC and were founded on Abraham. The three major religions are considered an Abrahamic religion because they state that their religion began with Abraham. Judaism has also considered itself a historical religion, one that goes beyond intuition. By declaring it a historical religion, they claim that God showed himself to the Jewish people through actions to save them. They claim that God revealed Himself to them so that they could spread their knowledge about Him to the rest of the world and that they were God's chosen people. As previously stated, it all started with Abraham. In the Old Testament of the Jewish scriptures, it says that God will bless Abraham and save him. Many years later, it is stated that God expanded this promise to save Abraham by saving all those who practice the religion of Judaism. Abraham is the second son of Isaac in which the seed of those who can be saved is considered plural. Since Judaism believes that the seed is plural and based on Abraham, this divides the major beliefs between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. After 1,823 years, it would seem impossible for culture and religion to survive without having a land of their own. However, Judaism managed to endure horrible persecution for hundreds of years and was able to maintain its identity through it all. It all started in 125 AD, when the Jews revolted against the Roman emperor. Not only was the city of Jerusalem destroyed, but they were banished from Israel. Modern Israel was claimed by the Jews in 1300 BC, and because of the Roman Emperor Hadrian, they no longer had land to practice and claim its heritage, culture, and religion. In 1290 AD, the Jews were once again exiled from a country. King Longshanks launched propaganda against the Jews. He was heavily in debt and the Jews were wealthy bankers, so he found an easy escape by antagonizing the Jews in order to avoid paying the debt. They were exiled from another country once again because of a king who acted selfishly by not wanting to pay his debts. It took 300 years for them to be reintegrated into England, with the exception of the doctors, but this is just another example of how they were persecuted. In the 20th century, during World War II, millions of Jews were killed in acts of genocide. Keep in mind: this is just a sample. Get a personalized article from our expert writers now.
