Many people don't look at the ingredients or even question where and how food is produced. Sometimes when people buy food, they look at what is most affordable. It has become a widespread problem. People are completely unaware of the harmful and deadly chemicals used in the manufacturing of certain foods that they ingest into their bodies. Not only does the food industry not directly say what is in food, but it also hides how slaughtered animals are treated. There are many documentaries that show the harsh truth and savagery of the food industry. People should be informed about where and how their food is prepared. Without proper nutrition, our bodies don't function as well as they normally should. This is the first generation to have a shorter life expectancy than our parents. This is because the foods many people eat are high in fats, sugars, and harsh chemicals. Poor diet is the leading cause of disease in America. Unfortunately, many big companies don't think about how their foods harm people, they mainly care about profit. Today, the commercial agriculture industry has developed new techniques to grow food faster and larger at a lower price. Not only are they pumping harsh chemicals into fruits and vegetables, but... middle of paper ... it will only get worse if people aren't informed about the corruption in the food industries. Society needs to be aware of what is contained in the foods it consumes. This must start from a young age so that an unhealthy diet does not become a way of life and cause serious health problems later in life.
