Essay / Holocaust - 748
If the Holocaust “killers” had not been placed in the situations they found themselves in, many of them would not have committed the crimes they did; whether they killed the Jews or simply sent them to camps, they were participating in the extermination of innocent people. Most of them killed out of fear, they didn't want to be persecuted and murdered, so they pretended they were for the Nazi party. Anne Frank once said, “Despite everything, I believe that people are truly good-hearted. » I believe this quote, which says that some people do bad things but that doesn't mean they are bad people, many do things out of fear, hoping that it will save their life, is quite true. All But My Life by Gerda Weissmann Klein, which is about a Jewish family, mainly the little girl in the family who goes through the unimaginable during the Holocaust, came to mind when I heard the quote . Two short stories called “Tiengen” by Maurice Meier and “Rescuers” by Irene Opdyke also came to mind when I read this quote. These three works prove that there were so many people who did righteous things and helped the terrorized people, even though there were many others who did nothing, or those who caused the horror what is the Holocaust. For example, All But My Life by Gerda Weissmann Klein, a story about the terrors of the Holocaust but also about some of the respectable people of the world. Holocaust. There is a story about a policeman in this book that the Anne Frank quote really made me think of, in the book Gerda is arrested by a policeman but in the end she is let go. Gerda was walking to her English lessons at her friend Ulla's house. Gerda had to bring her English book with her but as it was illegal, she put it in a bag in the middle of a paper......e 12 lives, she settled with it. This is yet another example of how there were noble-hearted people during these scary times. As stated previously, these three writings show that there were individuals who did the right thing, even though there were more people who were bystanders. three plays can teach you that the story of the Holocaust is not just about the Nazis and their killers. There are stories of people who spoke up and people who were actually genuine people deep down, despite what they were called. I learned that there were people who weren't so bad that they were part of the Nazi party. Just because they wore Nazi uniforms didn't mean they were bad. It was truly touching and inspiring to hear the stories of those who expressed their opinions and did something good during these “bad” times..
