Graphic Design When I was young I was always drawing all over my school books and anything I could find until it became a problem. My teachers started complaining about incomplete homework and class work because I spent too much time scribbling in my notebooks and I agreed. Soon after, my mother bought me a computer and taught me how to use Paint, a Windows program for drawing, but the problem was that I could only use it after I finished my homework. This is how I started designing on the computer. Graphic design is the career I would like to pursue because of the training required, the salary that would give me stability, the future of multimedia arts which will always improve and the daily role of a graphic designer. Graphic design doesn't require much practice. To become a graphic designer, I don't need any kind of on-the-job training because whatever is learned during my studies will cover most of the material. This career is very competitive and obtaining a bachelor's degree is highly recommended as most entry-level positions now require a bachelor's degree (U.S. Department of Labor). Graphic designers are often encouraged to work on portfolios containing their best work collected throughout the years and continue to attend school to obtain certification for different Illustrator/Photoshop programs. Since a graphic designer is not required to be certified in different programs, large companies that work with many different people will look at how many different programs a graphic designer is certified to work with (America's Career InfoNet). This is usually because a graphic designer already trained on new programs has the advantage over the competition...... middle of paper ......xt 8 years old, role seems stressful which will be demanding but manageable and the training is quite easy compared to other careers, there is not much physical work.
