Essay / Gun control and the black market - 1634
Criminals walk around with illegal guns. We are therefore unable to find the guns and murder weapons. They shouldn't be able to get the gun at all, but they are finding ways. We need to solve this problem because if we don't solve the problem it will only get worse and more people will die. The worse the situation gets, the more people die. People should not have to worry about criminals who are in prison, who own guns and what they will do with them. Gun control laws should stop criminals, not law-abiding citizens. Everyone wants to own a gun, but some people may not like criminals. Their need to get there on the black market. The black market is how people get their guns under the radar. This is normally found at regular gun stores and they don't do background checks, fill out paperwork, or go to classes. There are a lot of school shootings and people getting shot for no reason. It's crazy how someone can leave the house in the morning and not come back in the evening. According to David Lester in his article Police Officers Killed and The Guns Used by Criminals “It may be that criminals who are more likely to kill police officers use different types of firearms than criminals who are unlikely to kill police officers” (Par.4). They shouldn't even have guns. If they didn't have these weapons, they wouldn't have killed the police officers and maybe they could have arrested other criminals and we wouldn't have this problem right now. Also, we would be able to solve other crimes because the police are still alive and not dying for the bad guys. So, you see, if we reduce the black market, they won't be able to get guns and they won't. being able to shoot the police. This would make our world...... middle of paper ......f Drugs and firepower.
