“This world is terrible! My life is horrible! I'm exhausted! I want to give up! In China, you can always hear this phrase shouted from the mouths of Chinese children, anywhere and anytime. Chinese children experience too much stress from their parents and school. Education in China is basically called "exam-oriented education". This means that he only pays attention to the results and continues to pass on knowledge to the children, but he doesn't care whether the children really understand or not. Therefore, the education that Chinese children receive has influenced them in many ways and led to several decisive consequences. Starting with the basic information about the differences between the Chinese education system and the American education system can make this topic more comprehensive. First, American education takes care of everything, which means not only grades, but also other abilities that can make a person stand out and become great. They also want their children to be happy, courageous and independent. However, “failing the college entrance exam means the end of the world” (Barlow). Chinese education only takes results and grades seriously; they don't care about other things that won't influence their future. All they want is for their children to be intellectual people and lead rich and powerful lives, even if they are not happy. This later leads to a serious stress problem. China ranks first in the percentage of children committing suicide in the world. Research shows that in Shang Hai Middle School, 24.39% of students are considering ending their lives. 15.23 percent of students really thought about it seriously.
