MMMMMMM from Quiznos….Toasty! Eat fresh at Subway! These are two iconic slogans of sub-franchises known throughout the world. Subway and Quizno have been competing for over thirty years. When one company offers a promotion, you can bet the other isn't far behind. But what makes these two successful? It's really simple, it's marketing. Both companies are considered the best sub stores when it comes to marketing. The question though is who has the best marketing and subscriptions to back it up? With Quizno having over four thousand stores nationwide, you might say, "Wow, they must really be successful." » Unfortunately, this only represents about one-fifth of the metro stores in the United States. In the United States alone, Subway has more than nineteen thousand stores, not counting another five thousand stores found around the world. Quizno may be an admirable store, but there's no comparison to the world-famous Subway. I had the unique experience of not only trying both Subway and Quizno, but also having been a manager at one of the local Quizno's. This makes me feel confident in saying that the keys to marketing are: affordability, advertising, quality, quantity, variety and customer service. Marketing has many aspects: location, demographics, advertising; the list goes on and on. Although many of these will change depending on circumstances, one constant that marketing always targets is affordability. Can customers afford what we sell them? The answer is yes; that's if you want your customers to come back. Subway and Quiznos can say they are affordable. "Five Dollar Footlongs" and Five Dollar Daily Value...... middle of paper ... different subways within a two block radius of each other and there was only one Quizno throughout Kernersville. The Subways are still in business and Quizno's is not. Subway and Quizno are very similar. They sell great subs with an upbeat attitude and rely on advertising to attract the customer and they both have their quirks. It's the little details that separate them. Subway with its pre-packaged meats. The inflated prices of OrQuiznos, the lack of feng shui: the flow of their stores and their budget to devote to advertising.
