    The school did not treat level one students with the same respect that honor students receive. The classroom was filled with old technology like a blackboard and an abused student desk. The school did not give the teacher the same reading books as other classes. Students received destroyed books and were stunned. The students were very involved in fundraising to be able to invite a speaker. The teacher created a positive emotional environment for her teachers. She had high expectations of her students, such as that they read and understand “The Diary of Anne Frank.” She did not view students as untouchables, but showed them as human beings by showing them respect. The teacher knew the students' interest in teaching them about the Holocaust and how it related to her students' daily lives. She would also choose other books related to their situation. She tried to connect with the students by playing the music they liked and connecting to the topic at hand, but the students caught on to her trick and did not react the way the teacher wanted. The teacher was always upbeat and enthusiastic, even when her students didn't care about the topic being discussed. She had a great sense of humor and made terrible jokes that made her students laugh, because they were so corny. She did not allow students to be belittled by other students.,
