Today, all over the world, there is always a horrible and horrible event, killing many people. Hiroshima was one of those events that led to the death of millions of people in Japan. John Hersey's Hiroshima is based on this historic event and follows the struggles and suffering of six people disturbed by this event. Hiroshima is a great non-fiction novel written to help readers understand the suffering people endured after the bomb. The bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945, killing over one hundred thousand innocent people. In the novel, readers can easily see how after the bomb was dropped, people influenced not only the present but also the future. Humans are still forced daily to face positions in which they do not want to be. In today's world, horrible situations occur that are destructive and make people suffer. It is important to discuss human suffering because it will always be an ongoing event unless we achieve world peace. The authors also find human agony to be a very important subject to write about. This is because there is always so much going on in the world, but many others don't know it. Events all over the world are harming poor and innocent citizens. One of the greatest novels that helps readers understand the significance of the bomb being dropped on human suffering is Hiroshima. Throughout the novel, Hersey shows the problems six specific humans face after the bomb is dropped. “By the light of a lantern, he examined himself and found: multiple abrasions and lacerations to his face and body, including deep cuts to his chin, back and legs; extensive soreness on chest and trunk; some ribs perhaps fractured” (Hersey 46).
