Essay / How Elie Wiesel's Night Helped People Connect to...
Words, written language, a way to express feelings, emotions, experiences and everything your mind can reminiscent of life or fantasy. Although many have heard of the terrors that Jews faced in German-controlled countries during World War II, few have stepped back and truly thought about the weight of what actually happened to the people in the concentration camps. I believe Night helped people connect to what really happened. This is a real person's life, their story, poured out onto pages that reflect not only the facts, but also their deepest pains and fears. While recounting his physical discomforts and his numerous trials, he also gives a point of view to our imagination. The best way for me to experience what it might feel like, even remotely, to experience some of these conflicts was when one of my teachers said to me, “Imagine your family and friends that you love so much. Now line them up based on their gender. Now imagine that all the people you love of the opposite sex are leaving. They can't say goodbye, you can't tell them you love them one last time, they're just gone forever. and you'll never see them again."Imagine the loss and emptiness you would feel. The people who experienced this must have felt so many emotions. Although I can't say that this one example can scratch the surface of the The animosity these people faced, just being able to put myself in their shoes could open the door to understanding. It's important to try to understand what others felt, to remember it. through one person's point of view It connects us to the past, helps us, as members of the human race, to remember our mistakes and build a better future. For example, on page 65, when. he remembers him in the middle of the paper, "...his son had seen him losing ground, retreating towards the rear of the column. This is written by Elie with the conviction that he recognized what." the boy thought or even that he may have seen the boy looking at his father If we could have heard the boy's story things could have been interpreted very differently. Maybe the boy hadn't seen his father, maybe he had, but he was deluding himself at the time. Unfortunately, we will never know for sure. This makes Elijah's account of what happened even more important. Imagine if we knew nothing about the horrible things the Nazis did to the Jews. In conclusion, there are many reasons why Night is important. It is essential for us to remember, learn from, develop and validate this history in order to enrich our lives and provide the livelihoods on which to build for the future. How to move forward without looking back?
