    Who would have thought that the most opposite people could become one? Khaled Hosseini's Kite Runner shows a large amount of love, betrayal and friendship towards two completely different people. Amir, son of a rich man from Kabul, Afghanistan, develops a friendship with his servant Hassan. Amir and Hassan have a rather complicated relationship for two initially very different personalities. Hassan has strong feelings for Amir, but Amir never admits to their friendship due to their difference in social status. As the years pass, Amir finds himself in a difficult situation, during which his actions affect their lives forever, leading them to follow two separate paths. Looking back at his past, the old and wise Amir despises the choices he made as a child that negatively affected his friendship with Hassan. Throughout his life, Amir makes choices based on fear and guilt, resulting in a life filled with shame, until he is ultimately redeemed. The relationship between Amir and Hassan can be described as a set of opposites at the beginning of the novel, but as the novel progresses it becomes apparent that they could not be more alike, and by the end they become one. the boys, Amir and Hassan liked to do everything together; However, Amir never considers him and Hassan to be friends, and their personalities are shown to be very different at this early stage of their lives.
