    Lempicka (1898-1980)Born into the wealthy Gorska family in Poland, Warsaw. Tamara De Lempicka was the middle child of four children. She had an older brother named Stanczyk Gorski and a younger sister Adrienne, both of whom were bossed around by their tempestuous sister. Her father, a lawyer in a French trading company, and her mother, a well-educated aristocrat, had properly raised Tamara and her siblings. However, around the age of 12-13, the Gorska family broke up, sending Tamara to Saint Petersburg where one of her wealthy relatives lived. The wealthy grandmother spoiled her, with vacations to Italy and other Renaissance countries that were considered the start of her artistic inspirations. Tamara, who previously had always been remarkably successful in the artistic subjects of her apprenticeship, quickly received a well-rounded education as a result of her high-class position. So at the age of 12, when she was introduced to some of her first art classes, it was obvious that the girl's strong will and dominant personality made it difficult for her to sit still during the sessions. However, De Lempicka was soon so satisfied with her work that she soon began her long love affair with art. in 1918, while studying painting at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, she took private lessons from Maurice Denis and studied André Lhote. At this time, she quickly established a reputation as a painter of portraits, mainly of people from posh social circles, who impressed writers, artists and the fallen nobility of Eastern Europe. she was soon gifted enough to exhibit her works at the first Art Deco exhibition in Paris, in 1925. Two years after her first marriage and the start of her long-awaited artistic career, her husband Taduesz Lempicka was stopped by the check. otherwise known as the Bolshevik Secret Police. Years later, they finally managed to escape and changed their name to Lempicka. The changes that occurred and the prison sentence that Taduez faced coldly divided the two men and, as her life progressed, she was forced to flee with a scarce source of money because her husband was unable to find work. Despite the difficult times, the news of her pregnancy forced a determined Tamara to continue her wealthy lifestyle and turn to art to earn a living.
