Before you are even born, you have standards waiting to be met. You have a due date, your first words, your first steps, and many other “firsts” that are expected of you. Each individual learns to do these things at different times and at different rates. These expectations carry over into the classroom. Before kindergarten, everyone learns to speak, read, and potty train at different times. However, every time you enter kindergarten, you receive the kindergarten curriculum because you are five years old, not necessarily because you are ready for it. Some students may be well prepared in advance for the material and others may need all the help they can get. Therefore, test scores are not a good indication of a school's proficiency. When we talk about having test scores as an indication of a school's proficiency, it's all going to be based on the school. The school will have to have something to base itself on in order to achieve results. This is where it becomes unacceptable. Having the whole process put the school in trouble will result in the school going back to the employees for the work. This process leads to teacher evaluations. No one likes to be put under pressure in class. Being put under pressure causes more stress than necessary on the part of teachers. How is a teacher supposed to get students to pass tests? There are many different cases that can cause a good student to perform poorly on tests. Students may lack determination. Determination is an important factor in achieving success and lack of determination can lead to failure. Determination is something that cannot be taught or imposed on a student by their teacher. It's something they want to have to do good at school...... middle of paper...... average. When test scores are an indication of a school's proficiency, everything is out of place, time is biased towards a time slot we don't have time for, and students are under pressure to their peers and may be embarrassed.
