There are two types of research methods: quantitative and qualitative and they can be combined. Quantitative research is very concise and based on statistical data and can show the origin of the problem and its outcome. Quantitative research is considered a hard science and examines measurable aspects of human experience (Blais and Hayes, 2016). A controlled study can be considered quantitative research. Qualitative research is based on perspectives. This may vary from nurse to nurse. It is more descriptive than quantitative research. This is more biased data that does not show where the problem comes from or the conclusion of a specific study.
