  • Essay / Passion or money? This is the Question - 1816

A person passes by. Completely average, absolutely not worth paying attention to, but they pass. They could have been famous for inventing the "next big thing", but instead, no one knows their face, because the person walking never completed their passion, and everyone just keeps going along on their journey. day, without ever realizing the potential of each person. This person could have followed their passion into their work, and they would have been all that is desirable in this earthly world, but instead of pursuing their dreams - what they called a fantasy - this person settled for a perfect life of mediocrity. This person ended up wanting more from their day job, they ended up wondering what life would have been like if they had chosen a different path. This individual ended up regretting the path he had chosen, a career path with no future happiness. This is what happens to people who don't pursue their passion. And unfortunately, in America, the land of opportunity, this represents eighty percent of the population (Dinsmore, 2012). This phenomenon is disappointing. America is supposed to be the place to go when a person wants a dream and wants it so much that they have no choice but to come here. Because here it is possible, in other places passions are appeased and destroyed for the greater good of their society. The real question is: why don't people pursue passions? Most people have a passion or dream and then decide in one way or another not to follow that passion or dream. People don't pursue their dream career for a variety of reasons, but they should pursue it for a whole host of positive outcomes. A person should always be in search of his dream...... middle of paper ......TEDxGlobal. Conference produced from TED Talks.
