He is a man full of mystery and the protagonist of the film. Cobb is a lonely, regretful man who wants to return home to his children and when an opportunity presents itself for him to do so, he takes it. He is a smart man, who always gets what he wants and what he wants is for Cobb to help him on a mission. If Cobb can use Inception to convince Fischer not to follow in his father's footsteps and avoid taking over his business, he will help Cobb find his children. However, in order for him to reunite with his family, he must assemble the perfect team to help him on his mission. Arthur, one of Cobb's close friends, has been by his side since the beginning of Inception and is an important member of the team. For the mission to be completed, it will take them ten hours. Luckily for the group, Fischer is about to take a ten-hour flight. It is at this point in the film that Yusuf the chemist joins the team. He has the ability to create an antidote that will keep Fischer and the group asleep for ten hours, but it comes at a cost. In a dream, if a person dies, they are awakened, but since the antidote is powerful, if they die in the dream, they will be lost forever in limbo. To finalize the plan, they need Ariane, the student architect, a wise woman who is the key to the plan. She designs the layouts, levels and details of the dreams they find themselves in. This includes all the clothes, furniture and buildings of dreams and much more. Inception begins with Cobb, a professional thief who steals information from people's subconscious minds by entering their dreams. He is wanted for the alleged murder of his wife Mal. He is given a chance to get his life back, but it comes at a price. He will have to implant an idea in Fischer's subconscious to achieve the impossible, Inception. The classic Hollywood narrative style comes into play when the film slightly exceeds the two-hour limit. The main characters; Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Cillian Murphy propel an interesting plot that keeps the viewer in suspense and attentive throughout the film. The narrative pattern is followed throughout the film; this includes a crisis; the death of his wife and the inability to see his children.
