    The Lion King and Cinderella are classic Disney films that, on the surface, are completely different, but actually have a very similar plot. The Lion King is about a lion named Simba who leaves his home, The Pride Lands, at a young age, has many adventures, and for much of the film lives a "carefree" free life. Cinderella, on the other hand, is about a girl named Cinderella who is locked in her home and leads a seemingly boring life until the end of the film. However, these two films are much more similar than most think. For example, Simba and Cinderella had their lives seemingly ruined by someone who supposedly had their best interests in mind. Second, both characters spend the vast majority of the film living a different life than the one they were destined for. Third, both main antagonists of the films have an assistant antagonist who helps them against the protagonist, Simba and Cinderella. Additionally, both films end with some friends helping out and returning to the lives they were meant to live. In the movie The Lion King, Scar is Simba's evil uncle who wants to take over the Pride Lands. In order to take over and become king of the Lionlands, he kills the current king, Mufasa, Simba's father. After killing Mufasa, Scar tells young Simba to run away and never return to the Pride Lands. After Mufasa's death, everyone living in the Pride Lands believes that Simba is also dead. Therefore, Scar becomes the king of the Pride Lands. With Cinderella, her father remarried and shortly after his remarriage, he died. Because of this, the evil stepmother finds herself responsible for Cinderella's money and Cinderella's father. Additionally, both main antagonists have assistant antagonists who play an important role, and finally, Simba and Cinderella need help getting their lives back from the antagonist. These films seem very different on the surface, but are actually very similar. So it's no surprise that both films were extremely successful..
