As we saw throughout the movie Brubaker, a corrupt bureaucratic system presented many challenges. In the film, "we saw rampant abuse and corruption, including sexual assault and torture of inmates, worms in inmates' food, inmates being billed for better food, or even something as simple as 'a haircut, insurance fraud by a doctor who did not treat patients, the original a doctor billing for care of inmates (Tran). The consequences we saw were the replacement of the director as part of prison reform. We also noticed the consequences of the prisoners being treated like humans and that through this treatment they became better humans while living in prison.
