  • Essay / Personal Self-Assessment - 1339

Self-assessment is a process in which you examine yourself with the aim of self-discovery and learning more about yourself. Your likes, dislikes, behaviors, attitudes, and habits can be discovered during this process. You can use the findings to your advantage by accepting or changing your strengths and weaknesses. I plan to use this course to improve my personal skills to become a better student and successfully complete my Bachelor of Arts degree at Ashford University in Social Sciences. Self-assessment is the first step to my successful future. I remember in high school, I always felt like I was one of the last students to finish a test. I was sometimes slower to complete a written assignment or assignment. In open discussions about the material we had just read, things didn't stick with me after reading and I wasn't able to feel confident to raise my hand and be active in discussions. I would have to search my memory for answers for a while. Sometimes the answers were simply not retrieved. I often became frustrated at school and eventually developed a negative attitude toward school. I struggled a lot with it because I knew I could do better. Every day I set myself up for failure because I lacked the tools and strategies I needed to succeed in school. Of course, I got through it, but I could have been a much better student. I got low Bs and Cs, but I should have gotten A's. If I was completely interested in the subject, there was definitely a difference in what I understood. If there was no interest, I would postpone and procrastinate until the last minute. Procrastination hasn't gotten me anywhere except stress. I need to take care of things right away, without delay. I will normally do this, but I ALWAYS have to middle of paper ......ff to eliminate interruptions. I'm pretty confident that I have a great setup here to continue to succeed in my assignments. My goals are my main priority in seeking a better future. Writing this article was rewarding for me. It helped me experience a different self. Set goals for myself and helped me put things into perspective. I understand my styles and behaviors better now. Too bad I didn't take this course earlier in my life. Understanding myself will help me understand others better, I believe. This will help me given the job I plan to do. I am fully aware that I will never be the smartest or the fastest. I will accept the fact that I will be my best self. I will do my best to succeed. I will be a positive influence for my children, I will make my mother proud and I will make my husband swallow his words..
