CHAPTER FOUR4.0 ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION OF RESULTS4.1.0 INTRODUCTIONPrevious chapters have analyzed ADRMs in terms of literature review, conceptual and theoretical frameworks. This chapter will examine data collected from the Judicial Mediation Annex, the High Court, the Lands Court and various law firms that deal with ADRMs. The data will be analyzed to determine whether ADRMs have effectively contributed to the rapid resolution of state disputes. land disputes and thus reduce the number of land disputes brought before the High Court since their inception in 2000. The data collected from the various institutions that deal with ADRMs will help determine how far these mechanisms have gone in resolving disputes state land. .4.1.1 Restatement of ObjectivesThe aim of this research is to evaluate alternative conflict resolution mechanisms in resolving state land disputes.1. Establish the types of state land conflicts that exist in Zambia.2. Examine the legal and institutional frameworks that govern ADRMs.3. Assess the performance of ADRMs to date with a view to identifying factors delaying their operations in resolving state land disputes. 4.1.2 Research design and methodology In order to achieve the research objectives, a number of data collection techniques were used. The research methods used include qualitative questionnaires, personal observation interviews and secondary documentation. These techniques were the primary data collection tools in this study and, as such, the qualitative method was the most applicable in this research.
