  • Essay / Non Vegetarian Essay - 1304

The conclusions that can be drawn from all this are perhaps that we can have a better life and also save a large number of lives by eating vegetables rather than eating the meat. For example, as we demand more meat, we encourage factories to kill more animals and destroy forests, so on a personal level, the best solution for this destruction would be to become vegetarian. An opposing view that I might agree with would be that modern agricultural techniques can be quick and, in some cases, painless; however, some believe that in meat farming techniques the animals remain alive and in pain for several hours, and therefore agree that it is not painless. Additionally, due to hormone injections given to billions of animals, such as cows and chickens, the animals grow to enormous sizes, which can lead to their death (D., 2008) . Although this issue is not entirely related to vegetarianism, we need to be aware that our increasing meat consumption can lead to mass genocide. Following a vegetarian diet surely has its advantages and disadvantages; However, as I have explained throughout this article, the benefits are much more compelling, as they benefit multiple parties such as our health and the welfare of animals and the environment. Ultimately, we live in a society where each of us has our own preferences when it comes to food; therefore, not everyone would agree to eat the same food as others. Vegetarianism and non-vegetarianism are two general terms of diet, where vegetarianism in all its forms benefits health and ecology, not just one's selfishness for the act of eating meat.
