    History and films can be observed in several ways. Today, films have an important role to play in these stories. Animated films provide information showing what it was like back then and provide visual information about how people lived in the past. Today, movies like "The Truman Show" show what life was like in the late 1900s. For example, people were obsessed with reality TV and clothes were more formal than today. The technology was much more advanced than we really think. Many of us prefer watching movies to reading about history. Films provide indelible images of some of the great events of the 20th century. For example, the holocaust, the filmed images of the liberation camps, the devastation of the atomic bomb are all specific examples of indelible images. The Truman Show provided information on how women and minorities were portrayed in film. There was no racism or people being treated differently. All women were treated equally and fairly.
