  • Essay / Mirror for Man - People are the way they are raised

Kluckhohn explained the differences and similarities between people around the world by taking different life examples of people from different cultures and comparing them to another person who was raised in a different lifestyle. . At first, he raised several questions, asking why certain people do or don't do certain things. These questions served as guides, which led to the examples. They also served as an attraction for readers curious about different people from another culture. He then compared people from different cultures in his examples. He compared an American woman, who limits her husband to a single companion, to a Koryak woman, who shares her husband with another woman; an American raised in China with Americans raised here in the United States; and finally, he compared people's reactions to eating chicken or tuna meat to those of a rattlesnake. Kluckhohn has a strong point in his view of human culture. I agree with his definition of culture: “that part of the environment that is the creation of human beings.” People react to things differently because they grew up in different environments and with different cultures. No matter who the person is or where they were born, their behavior and the evolution of their personality traits will depend on the environment in which they live. The way people think, feel, react and behave also depends on their life experiences. They feel different emotions because they have already felt that emotional happiness or sadness. They think about what is right and what is wrong because they have learned from past experiences. They react to different things because they have experienced things they like and things they don't like. They behave in a certain way because they want to adapt their way of living to what they have admired in the lives of others. I was born in Hong Kong, the school system and people living there are very strict compared to those in the United States. In Hong Kong, students go to school for seven hours, then go home and spend another seven or eight hours on homework. The school system really forces you to study and do your homework to keep up with the rest of the class. But yet, students would accept the homework without complaining because they are used to doing so much homework and handling the pressure..
