    A year ago, I thought I knew everything I wanted for my future career and life. But really, the only thing I knew was that I was going to get a special education degree and play basketball at a college, but I still didn't know which one. As my senior year of high school continued, I pursued the fun route as opposed to the academic route. My dream was always to become a special education teacher, but gradually my emotions changed about the outlook on basketball. College was all about making friends, meeting new people, and instantly getting back into that community, but I slowly realized that the majority of BGSU were from the same area so they already had friends. People weren't trying to broaden their horizons. My college experience turned into coming home every weekend to spend time with my parents. As the year progresses it is easier to make friends and people leave their group, but the people and the environment are not the factors that keep me away from school, it is is the atmosphere, size and location. Since my college decision was made at the last minute, I had little opportunity to work on other college applications or take college visits. But I don't regret the decision I made.
