  • Essay / Wildlife and Conservation Efforts in Africa - 2215

The dynamic natural environment and abundant wildlife are the most striking features of the African continent. Due to its wide variety of biomes ranging from tropical forests to arid deserts, Africa has abundant wildlife. However, due to environmentally harmful human interactions, the variety of biomes is reduced to an unprecedented level, resulting in the disappearance of wildlife. These harmful human interactions, particularly overgrazing and desertification, occur in part because indigenous people who depend on the land for their daily lives do not realize the potential benefits of wildlife and the unsustainability of their current lifestyles. . Poaching of horns and other valuable animal parts has also contributed to the decline in the number of species found in the wild.
