    The will to survive has been with humans since man first walked the planet. Man began to use caves and fire as some of the essential elements for life. As our race grew, so did human resources. Thanks to the power of the human brain, the growth potential of technology is limitless, and as a result, humans have evolved to become the most intelligent and fiercest living beings on the planet. Year after year, inventions are created to make difficult everyday tasks easier. Creating stable living conditions is no longer a struggle, but has technological progress really made humanity dependent on its capabilities and comfort? Examples of technology range from transportation tools to communication, and even socialization. The invention of the train contributed to the transportation of people and goods. The creation of the telegraph made it possible to communicate at a distance. The development of military weapons helps defend the American people, but how important is social media? In modern society, social media is in the news, but for many reasons. Yes, websites like Facebook and Twitter help with advertising and socializing, but it has also been reported that social media is destroying the true nature of human beings. Crucial human skills such as face-to-face communication and the development of imperative stimuli are delayed due to the thirst for social media. Where would America's reliance on technology lead if all technology were suddenly wiped out? Americans have become so comfortable with the luxuries of technology that, as a nation, the United States of America has become dependent on it, affecting the natural instincts of humans and the survival of the nation. Electric power was one of the first forms of technology. .... middle of paper ...... effects survive? People today can understand the complexities of technology, but do not know the real essentials of life.
