Essay / Analysis of the Salem Witch Trials - 712
I stand before you today to relive and help learn the lessons of the terrible events that occurred just twenty years ago. The Salem Witch Trials ended with the wrongful and unjust hangings of many innocent men and women. Without sufficient evidence and without the help of Abigail Williams, some of the best people in town were put to death. Among these people were Giles Corey, Rebecca Nurse and even a great man named John Proctor. This man, along with many others, had two options: refuse to admit that he had participated in any way in witchcraft and be executed, or confess to save his own life and lie about his participation in a kind of witchcraft. Let her transform you like a-" before being interrupted by John. On the surface, it's... middle of paper... for which to die may vary depending on you all, but for John, his reputation and justice were enough. I personally took these lessons to heart, and I hope that sharing them with you all today has made a difference. Chances are, circumstances will never be the same again. but you can incorporate these lessons into your everyday life Before you act, think about the negative reactions that might come from your decision. All you need to remember is how important Abby's actions are. 'have been negatively affected. Plus, in most of your life, you'll probably never have to die for something. That doesn't mean you can't stand up for what's right. there is something that means a lot to you and that you need to fight for, don't back down. If a humble man like John Proctor, who, I remind you, cheated on his wife at one point, can be so valiant in standing up for what is right, so can you...
