Piles of files in the register counter sometimes give a messy look and it takes a lot of space to store all their patient records. Sometimes they cannot find a recording due to misplacement and the recordings may be lost. Every time they want to retrieve the records, they have to search them based on the serial number. Sometimes the file is not placed according to the serial number. This process will take longer than it should. Some clinics are already implementing an electronic medical record and this is having a positive impact on the management of their records. Apart from reducing the retrieval time of patient records, the system also helps in managing all records efficiently. Additionally, by using this type of system, the use of a large space can be reduced. The same goes for the cost, the organization (clinic) can save more in terms of stationery and does not need to hire a lot of workers to manage its records. The electronic medical record (EMR) provides convenient access for clinic staff. It also provides quick access to patient information whenever staff want to retrieve the data. Apart from this, the system could help resolve record movement issues while improving the quality of the process. In terms of security, the use of EMR is more secure than the manual system because it can be limited to certain users, for example, the doctor and the receptionist. The user must log in to the system so that they can be easily monitored and identified who is using the system.
